While it is a reality that we are in the midst of a spiritual or invisible warfare around us day and night between the forces of darkness (Satan and his allies) and the kingdom of heaven, who are the angels of God who are fighting in favor of those who are going to inherit eternal life. (Read Ephesians 6: 10-16) We can see every day in our streets, the results or influences of that spiritual warfare, when we watch the news, or we don’t have to go too far, we take a look at some relatives and acquaintances of ours, it is obvious that there is something spiritual operating and we can see rejection, lies, envy, and all kinds of evil in a visible way. Whenever you see injustice, racism, hatred, slander, abuse of all kinds, confusion, you can sense the fear of the people around, and everything that is seen in our days, has a spiritual background. Many of us have been taught very badly, and we have lost perspective even in prayer. We do not pray based on the points of the prayer of the Our Father prayer, which Jesus taught, and therefore nothing happens.
“When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites; for they like to stand up and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners, to be seen by men. Truly I tell you, they have already received their reward. “But you, when you pray, enter your room, and when you have closed the door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.
“And when praying, do not use meaningless repetitions, like the Gentiles, because they imagine that they will be heard by their verbiage.” Therefore, do not become similar to them; because your Father knows what you need before you ask for it.
“You therefore pray in this way: ‘Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.
‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
‘And forgive us our debts (offenses, sins), just as we have also forgiven our debtors (those who offend us, do us wrong).
‘And do not tempt us (let us not fall) into temptation, but deliver us from evil (from the evil one). Because Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’ “For if you forgive men your transgressions (offenses, crimes), your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” But if you do not forgive men, your Father will not forgive you your transgressions (offenses, crimes) either. ”
Matthew 6: 5-15 New Latin American Bible.
Our Lord Jesus Christ left us a model of how to pray. There are several points to consider:
1- The prayer must be something private, unless we are in some public place in a circumstantial way and it is necessary to pray for someone. If we are in public we can also pray discreetly, that only the Lord knows that we are doing it, unless we are in agreement with someone else.
2- There are no needs for repetitions, no rosaries, or anything like that, to pray is to talk with God. We must speak to him addressing him as who he is and what he represents to us, our Father, the source from which we come. The first thing is to recognize who He is, He is our father, He is holy, and apart from being in our hearts he is also in heaven.
3-We ask that his kingdom come, that he may govern and take control of our life, family, city, situation, etc., and that he may do his will in everything as he already planned it to be in heaven, that he do it here as well.
4- We ask for provision, it can be economic, spiritual, emotional, we can ask him for advice, peace, wisdom, food, direction, freedom in all areas, a fresh anointing, fullness of his presence, help for someone else, etc.
5- We ask God for forgiveness for our sins against him and against others, after we have forgiven others, because if we do not forgive others, God will not forgive us, because he is righteous.
6- We ask for protection against the temptations and attacks of the evil one, recognizing that we already asked for forgiveness for our offenses and we have no open door for the enemy, as a sign that we are submitting ourselves to God, we know that His are the kingdom, the power and the glory forever, and that no one is more powerful than him.
If we do not pray according to the model of Jesus, and we dedicate ourselves to repeat what others do and say, without knowing that this is lack of wisdom, nothing will not work. Some people speak more to the devil and demons, and rebuke them more than they praise and speak to God. Long time ago, I used to be rebuking and casting out demons, and screaming at them and nothing happened. Until what the Bible says in James 4: 7 was revealed to me:
“Submit yourselves therefore to God; resist the devil, and he will flee from you. ”
There is no way that what this verse says will work, if we do it the other way around. If I do not submit to God, (If I do not control my tongue, if I do not watch over and control my thoughts, if I do not respect the authorities, if I do not forgive, if I do not even respect the natural laws of traffic, if I do not speak the truth, if I do not congregate because of rebellious reasons, etc.) means that I have no armor of God to protect me, because this is not something symbolic, but something real. In that case, it doesn’t matter how much I scream and do “spiritual warfare” If I don’t walk in justice, (in good relationship with God and others) if I don’t walk in Peace, if I don’t speak truth, and my heart, my mind, and my mouth have been not transformed because I have refused to obey the written word of God, and I have not seriously given my life to the Lord. So, nothing around me will change for the better. In the “new movement” they have deceived us, telling us that the only thing to do is “spiritual warfare” in their own way, shouting decrees and curses in the airways that later might turn against themselves. So, there are more and more people with inexplicable misfortunes, and disorderly lives, because they received the wrong teachings, and they thought that screaming into the airways without doing the right job on themselves first, was going to be the magic solution to their problems. But all they learned were fables of men, very far from reality.
The Bible warns us:
“But when the archangel Michael contended with the devil, disputing with him for the body of Moses, he did not dare to utter a curse judgment against him, but said: The Lord rebukes you. But these blasphemers of how many things they do not know; and in which by nature they know, they are corrupted as irrational animals. ” Jude 1: 9-10.
• The million-dollar question:
Do you want to wage a true spiritual warfare, without fear that the enemy will come against you with revenge?
• The million-dollar answer:
Focus on God, love him, obey him, and love your neighbor. They never told us that walking in love, obeying the Word, praying as Jesus taught us (without repetition) forgiving, walking in justice (without legalism), is spiritual warfare, but the truth is that it is.
There are moments when we will have to rebuke the enemy personally, but we need discernment, by knowing the word of God, knowing how does the enemy works, and by the leading of the Spirit of God in us, like Jesus did in the following passage:
” But he turning about, and seeing his disciples, rebuked Peter, and saith, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou mindest not the things of God, but the things of men”. Mark 8:33 ERV
We should not pray to or speak to angels, although some of us were taught that when we were little children. What we can do is pray to God to send his angels on our behalf. … “He will send his angels about you to keep you in all your ways” … Psalms 91:11. Don’t focus so much on the enemy. Don’t ignore their machinations, and their pitfalls. Be ready to respond to him with the word of God that has been implanted in your heart, which you have believed.
There is no oil more powerful than the anointing that you already have inside since you received Jesus Christ and believed in him, and if you do not have the anointing, ask God to give it to you, it is he who gives it and not man. Do not buy miracle oil, or anointed oil online. Please don’t be fooled!
Let us not put our trust in oils, or handkerchiefs, or saints, or crucifixes, or vain repetitions. Christ was the one who died for us, and it is the only way to heaven, let’s get out of the confusion, it’s about time. If you want to learn spiritual warfare, read the gospels, and see how Jesus did it and won every battle, being obedient to his Father, resisting the enemy, and responding with the word of God to every temptation, praying, forgiving and loving people, walking in the light, and doing good.
Hey, we’ve been fooled! It is urgent, we have to learn and read the scriptures again!
